Magic Bow Drilling Rotating Magnetic Guiding System

Introduction

Magic Bow Drilling Rotating Magnetic Guiding System (MBGS) is used near target area in directional drilling remote connection engineering which can eliminate the cumulative error of MWD and guide the drilling bit to hit the target accurately. The core of MBGS is the magnetic ranging technique. MBGS is made up of rotating magnetic sub (RM sub), probe , ground kit, laptop and interpretation software.

Working Principle

The magnetic signal data from RM sub who installed on the bit is collected by the probe in the target borehole when the distance between RM sub and the probe is 120m. The PC receives the data and interprets the correlation position between the bit and the target. Based on the interpretation result, the operator adjusts drilling tool face to make the drilling going towards the target.

Hubei, 2022

The 18# salt brine well group of Daqiwan, Xitou Village, Sanhe Town, Yingcheng, Xiaogan, Hubei was connected on September 22, 2022. The construction unit is Team 417 of Hunan Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau.

 The 19# salt brine well group in Daziwan, Xitou Village, Sanhe Town, Yingcheng, Xiaogan, Hubei was connected on September 25, 2022. The construction unit is Team 417 of Hunan Provincial Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development Bureau.

Wuyang, 2023

W5-1,W5-2 salt brine well group in Mengzhai Township, Maoyang was docked on January 11, 2023 successfully. The construction unit is Shandong Chengxin Energy Technology Co.

JDD-15,JDD-16 salt brine wells in Longxi Village, Mengzhai Town, Maoyang, were successfully drilled on January 18, 2023. The construction unit is Nanyang Tongsalt Drilling Company.

On March 31, 2023, JDD-17,JDD-18 salt brine wells in Longxi Village, Mengzhai Town, Maoyang were successfully connected. The construction unit is Nanyang Tongsalt Drilling Company.

On April 22, 2023, JDD-05,JDD-06 salt brine wells in Longxi Village, Mengzhai Town, Maoyang were successfully drilled. The construction unit is Erdos Yu Oil Drilling Company.

On April 25, 2023, JDD-13,JDD-14 salt brine wells in Longxi Village, Mengzhai Town, Maoyang were successfully drilled. The construction unit is Sichuan Salt Brigade.

JSV-033,JSV-034 salt brine wells in Weizhai Village, Mengzhai Town, Maoyang were successfully connected on November 2, 2023. The construction unit is Nanyang Tongyan Salt Drilling Company.

Xinjiang, 2023

Xinjiang Yili Uranium Mine P-18, B01 well set docked successfully on June 13, 2023 The project is the 203rd Institute of the Ministry of Nuclear Industry

Xinjiang Yili Uranium Mine P-19, Well Group B02 Docking Success on Sep 17, 2023 The project was carried out by the 203rd Institute of the Ministry of Nuclear Industry.

B01,B02 target wells are PVC pipes with an outer diameter of 215mm and a thickness of 10mm. The wall of the pipe is complete and there is no cavitation. The probe tube was lowered into the buttress, and the drill was guided to 2 meters to raise the probe tube, which soon broke through the PVC pipe.

The drill bit soon broke through the PVC pipe and a jet of gas was released from the wellhead, followed by a jet of water.
